HowTo :: re-size a Linux partition

To re-size the space on a partition , you can use use of the following two tools: 

Parted
Parted is a program for creating, destroying, resizing, checking and copying partitions, and the file systems on them. Parted usually comes with CentOS, Fedora Core, and RedHat distributions. To see if Parted is installed on your system, SSH to the server and run the following command:

GParted
GParted is an industrial-strength package for creating, destroying, resizing, moving, checking and copying partitions, and the file systems on them. GParted allows you to take a hard disk and change the partition organization therein, while preserving the partition contents. For more information and download, go to: gparted.sourceforge.net/

NOTE:
Proceed at your own risk. You must be very comfortable with Linux OS to re-size a partition .
