To re-size the space on a partition , you can use use of the following two tools:
Parted
Parted is a program for creating, destroying, resizing, checking and copying partitions, and the file systems on them. Parted usually comes with CentOS, Fedora Core, and RedHat distributions. To see if Parted is installed on your system, SSH to the server and run the following command:

GParted
GParted is an industrial-strength package for creating, destroying, resizing, moving, checking and copying partitions, and the file systems on them. GParted allows you to take a hard disk and change the partition
organization therein, while preserving the partition
