If you are using ClamAV and you get the following error message:

Starting clamd: LibClamAV Error: cli_loadmd5: Problem parsing database at line XXXXX LibClamAV Error: Can't load daily.mdb: Malformed database
LibClamAV Error: cli_tgzload: Can't load daily.mdb
LibClamAV Error: Can't load /usr/share/clamav/daily.cld: Malformed database
ERROR: Malformed database

That means ClamAV Databases are corrupted. To fix this problem, do the following:

• cd /usr/share/clamav/

Empty the content of these 3 files:

• cp /dev/null daily.cvd
• cp /dev/null main.cld
• cp /dev/null mirrors.dat

Then run this command to download fresh copies for your databases:

• /etc/cron.daily/freshclam

If that doesn't help, delete the three files mentioned above; run these commands (in that order):

• cd /usr/share/clamav/
• rm -fv daily.cvd main.cld mirrors.dat
• /etc/cron.daily/freshclam

If you are using the cPanel control panel, restart ClamAV:

• /scripts/restartsrv_clamd
